Sean earned his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Rochester in Fall 2025. He began his graduate studies in quantum optics before shifting his focus to complex systems physics, drawn by its broad, interdisciplinary potential. His research has explored topics including social networks and human mobility, the impact of collaboration on novelty in academic publishing, perception of collective behavior in flocks, and critical phenomena in phase transitions. Sean joined PSC in summer 2026, and contributes machine learning and computing support to projects on Neocortex and Bridges-2. Outside of work, Sean enjoys participating in local art and music communities.
