Robin Scibek serves as the Director of Communications at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC), where she oversees a broad portfolio spanning communications, project management, education and workforce development, industry engagement, internal operations, and organizational communications. A member of PSC’s leadership team, she plays a central role in advancing the Center’s strategic priorities, strengthening partnerships, and supporting operational continuity across non‑research and non‑technical functions.

Robin began her career at PSC as an HPC systems administrator, an experience that gave her a deep understanding of scientific workflows, complex technical environments, and the needs of researchers and users. Over time, her work expanded to include project management, communications leadership, and cross‑institution coordination. She led the modernization of PSC’s communications by refining internal processes, directing the development of practical branding guidelines, and strengthening coordination across projects and partner institutions, including Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh.

As PSC’s engagement needs grew, Robin led the development of a more integrated Outreach & Engagement organization that now supports communications, project management, education, and workforce development. She has overseen major initiatives such as PSC’s online training platform, expanded K–12 programming, and national internship and fellowship programs that broaden inclusive pathways into research computing and cyberinfrastructure.

At the national level, Robin serves as a Co‑Investigator for the NIH Human Biomolecular Atlas Program (HuBMAP) Infrastructure & Engagement Component, supporting consortium operations, communications, and community engagement across dozens of institutions. She has also contributed leadership to NSF‑funded programs and represents PSC at key national meetings, including the annual Supercomputing Conference and the Practice & Experience in Advanced Research Computing (PEARC) conference.

Robin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and an MBA with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh. She is committed to building effective, people‑centered systems; strengthening community ties; and expanding access to STEM opportunities. Outside of PSC, she volunteers with organizations such as the Mt. Lebanon Women’s Club and Serve2Cure, and enjoys tennis and creative paper arts.
