Carnegie Mellon University’s Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center is searching for an Associate Data Analyst/Curator. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing critical support by curating the data deposited in Data Archives run by the PSC. The Associate Data Analyst/Curator is accountable for collecting and curating data and metadata for scientific data repositories, ensuring that the data and metadata comply with repository standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the curation the data deposited under supervision.
- Interacting with data depositors and users
- Participating with efforts developing community data and metadata standards.
- Participating, representing, and advocating for project interests in relevant community working groups and standardization efforts.
- Assisting with the integration and addition of annotation data to existing data held by the data repository.
- Assisting the work with relevant repositories with efforts to facilitate exchange and reuse of data.
- Supporting improvement efforts ensuring that the data held is increasingly FAIR and AI ready.
- Providing help-desk support and creating relevant documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Biology, Medicine, Information/Library Science, Biomedical Informatics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
- 1 -3 years of relevant experience in information technology, data science, healthcare, business, or research field.
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with genomics, bioinformatics, and/or imaging assays.
- Experience with programming languages used in data science (such as Python or R)
- Experience managing/preparing data sets for use in analysis and/or modeling.
- Familiarity with commonly used biomedical ontologies.
