As the Manager of Networking Research with PSC’s Advanced Networking group, Kathy pursues research interests in high performance networking, network performance measurement and analysis, and new networking technologies. She provides ongoing network performance and data transfer consulting for the BIL and HuBMAP biomed projects along with other PSC projects upon request. Kathy is a co-lead of the ACCESS Operations Networking and Data Transfer Services team. She also has a leadership role with NSF’s Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (Trusted CI) where she serves as PSC’s site lead and provides project management for Trusted CI’s Cybersecurity Framework Cohort program. She has a long-time commitment to STEM and, in particular, encouraging girls to consider career options in technology.

Kathy joined PSC in 1987, focusing on hardware systems support, and transitioned to networking in 1999. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

When not immersed in technology, Kathy enjoys playing the flute, cooking, reading, and dabbling in way too many arts and crafts projects.
