Project Title: Customizing Open OnDemand for PSC Environment
Susan Litzinger, File Systems Administrator
An Operations Intern would be extremely helpful to get some projects that have been on the back burner up to full speed. One such project is Open OnDemand, OOD. Open OnDemand is an NSF-funded open-source HPC portal based on Ohio Supercomputing Center’s original OnDemand portal. The goal of Open OnDemand is to provide an easy way for system administrators to provide web access to their HPC resources. See their web site for more information. PSC has OOD running for both the Bridges and Olympus clusters. Unfortunately, there is much more functionality within OOD that we have not had the time or talent to get customized to our environment. OOD is written in Embedded Ruby on Rails which we don’t have much experience with at PSC. It would be extremely helpful to get an intern to dig into this project over the summer and get other apps to run inside OOD, such as Matlab, VNC server, and COMSOL server to name a few.
Embedded Ruby on Rails
Learn High Performance Computing utilities and tools used by students and researchers and how they relate to current HPC architectures.
Build Open OnDemand into a portal for all users to get their work done easily regardless of their level of computer expertise.
