Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center Workshop Intro to Terascale Code Development

LOCATION: Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center DATE: Monday and Tuesday, October 13-14, 2003

PURPOSE: PSC is launching a new workshop series, "Introduction To Terascale Code Development", to enhance the ability of the nation's computational science and engineering community to effectively use today's leading edge computing systems, such as the NSF Terascale Computing System (TCS) at PSC. The workshops are open to all researchers who would like to develop optimized codes for massive parallelism.

Aimed at scientists and engineers, including current users of TCS and other large systems such as those offered via the NSF's PACI and TeraGrid programs, these two-day workshops will build on MPI classes offered by PACI and others.

The workshop incorporates both lectures and extensive hands-on lab sessions. Programming exercises are carefully designed to reinforce concepts and techniques taught in class. Our instructors have strong scientific and technical backgrounds and are available for individual consultation during lab sessions.

  • A working knowledge of FORTRAN or C and UNIX is required.
  • Parallel computing experience is recommended.

AGENDA and LECTURE NOTES: The agenda can be found on line at: http://www.psc.edu/training/TCD_Oct03/agenda.html. Lecture notes will be placed online as they become available.

REGISTRATION: Registration fees are waived to students, professors or researchers associated with academic institutions. The fee for government employees is $575 and the fee for participants from the private sector is $975.
