LeMieux Cooks Recipes for Metallic Glass
PITTSBURGH, September 6, 2004 — Carnegie Mellon physicist Michael Widom used LeMieux in a series of computations that yield “recipes” to create metallic glasses, metal alloys with unusual properties. PSC physicist Yang Wang collaborates with Widom on a DARPA grant to design and test these materials. A Sept. 6 feature in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette describes this research.
