• Slow Start attempts to estimate available bandwidth
  • Use a better estimator. Janey Hoe has done work on this.
  • Don’t estimate, reserve!
• Slow Start also develops ACK clocking
  • Internal clocking on hosts
  • No clocking at all (demanding of routers!)
