• vbns-notify: Connected Sites Notification List - Sent to a contact at every NSF vBNS award site that has a connection to the vBNS. The contacts at the award sites will be responsible for forwarding the information on to their users. This is a notification list which will identify vBNS status changes, such as outage reports and planned configuration changes. This is not a discussion list.

• vbns-users: User Discussion List for applications development and general use of the vBNS. It includes summaries of vBNS notifications tailored to the users point of view. List members sign up for this list but it should also include site technical contacts and vtcc members. This maillist should also encourage general discussion about applications development on the vBNS.

• vbns-techs: Technical Contacts Discussion List - A discussion list for the technical contacts at each of the NSF vBNS award sites plus MCI. It could include technical contacts from other connected networks and also includes vTCC and NSF representatives. Technical issues from this list that need resolution should be brought forward to the vtcc list.

• vtcc: vBNS Technical Coordination Committee - This is a list of vBNS technical coordinators that will likely change as more sites are connected. This is the group that deals with the technical decisions for the vBNS. Requests for special considerations, such as direct use of ATM services in the vBNS, should be sent to this list.
