FORMAT and UNFORMAT example: equil.inp

On IBM SP3, there are 10 native binary trajectory files: 1fsc_e1.crd  - 1fsc_e10.crd  in the crd/ subdirectory. equil.inp will format them into a single or multiple hex-formatted files but it is done
from the crd directory as follows (for 8 trajectory files):
% cd crd
% ls
1fsc_e1.crd   1fsc_e3.crd   1fsc_e5.crd   1fsc_e7.crd
1fsc_e2.crd   1fsc_e4.crd   1fsc_e6.crd   1fsc_e8.crd
% ln -s ../rhomba.xtl .
% ln -s ../1fsc_dimens.stream .
% ln -s ../1fsc.psf .7
% setenv toppar ".."
% charmm pdbfile=1fsc task=format begin=1 end=8 < ../equil.inp
% ls -s
