far sub-commands
Most of the far sub-commands are standard UNIX commands. They work in the usual way, and all of their switches and options are available. Additional information for the standard commands is available in their man pages.
These categories of far sub-commands exist:
- Storing and retrieving archived files
- Displaying archived files
- Moving around within, and modifying, your archive hierarchy
- Modifying the protections of archived files
- Changing your archive password
- Executing local commands without exiting far
- Obtaining help
- Exiting far
It is no longer possible to select which files will be migrated and which will remain on disk. The exempt and unexempt commands have been disabled.
