Cyber Safety Awareness Workshop

Wednesday, May 26, 2010
9am - 4pm

With the ever-expanding use of the internet, education is critically needed to address safe computer habits, particularly among students who use and adopt new technologies more quickly than their parents. This workshop will address three subject areas: cyber ethics, cyber safety and cyber security. It will include a combination of lectures, discussion, activities, exercises and an assessment.

The objective is to train educators on how to best present the Safe-Net classroom materials at their own institutions. If you are a teacher, technology coordinator or Librarian and are interested in training teachers at your institution on how to raise the awareness of students in the classroom about being safe on the internet, this workshop is for you. Information to be presented includes classroom materials and lesson plans.
